Susan Schwartz
I attended my first Pilates class over 20 years ago, shortly after turning 50, while living in Santa Barbara, California. Even though I had been a lifelong runner, I immediately became hooked on the therapeutic benefits of Pilates and continued to practice for the next six years. After moving to Carlsbad, California in 2005 and semi-retiring from a career as a paralegal, I had the opportunity to pursue my passion for Pilates and obtained my certification from Body Arts and Science International.
I love the challenge of exploring movement with each of my clients whether it be regaining strength after an injury, surgery or simply the joy of movement. Dealing with injuries in my own body, I have a deep appreciation for the work and how dedication to strengthening the core and gaining overall muscle strength and flexibility can result in moving pain free.
I believe the Pilates journey is a lifelong commitment in education which led me to attend workshops with many of the leaders in the Pilates industry as well as exploring alternative methods of movement, including The Franklin Method, Arcus Training and Feldenkrais.
Fast forward 20 years. I am still in love with Pilates and the opportunity to share my knowledge with the many wonderful clients I have the privilege of working with daily.
